The Ryerson wing was originally three stories with single-story attachments on either side. It was only a 5 bedroom house with one living and one dining room, so the three-generation extended family filled it. The furniture in the Ryerson wing was chosen by Mrs. Hewitt and represents a later (Victorian) age, with a few exceptions.

This is the Ryerson dining room. In the corner you can see a "fainting couch," provided for women with 18" waists (more detail on the actual tour). The table is of inlaid multi-colored wood, a style named Dutch Marquetry.
Ryerson master bedroom. The post-bed is the original bed of the Ryersons.
